View and Search Open Positions
To view available positions, click on the
OPEN POSITIONS link, located on the top navigation bar of any
NAFJobs web page.
To narrow the job list, use the
Search Open Positions section at the top of the
Open Positions page. If you know the job
Number or any word in the job
Title, type it into the appropriate box. You may also choose an Air Force Base from the
Base drop-down list provided, and check any boxes that apply to your search. Click the
Search button. This will narrow the job list to available jobs with your criteria.
You may sort the jobs list by any category, displayed in the column headers. Click once on a column header to sort in ascending order. Click again to sort in descending order. This function is helpful if you did not choose a specific Air Force Base in the
Search Open Positions options, and you want to organize the jobs list by
Base.
To view
Job Details for a position, click on the
[View] link, located in the
Action column on the right.
Contact Information
To find the
Human Resource Office contact information for an Air Force Base and Organization, associated with a specific job or job list, click on the
Base Details tab, found on the
Job Details page or your job search results list.
If the
Base Details tab is not visible, you will need to specify a
Base from the drop-down list in the
Search Open Positions area at the top of the page.
Apply for Open Positions
NOTE: Every individual who wishes to apply for a position must
Register and complete a Profile in order to submit an application. Some positions may indicate that additional information is required (such as Childcare Work Information or Driving Information).
To register and start the process of creating your NAFJobs Account, click on
LOGIN/REGISTER link, located on the top navigation bar of any
NAFJobs web page. |
To apply for a position, click on the
[Apply] link, located in the
Action column on the right-side of the
Open Positions page, or use the
Apply button located on the
[View] Position Details page.
NOTE: Your Profile must be complete before you may apply for a positon. If your
Profile is not complete, or is missing information needed for a specific job, a pop-up message will appear reminding you to complete your
Profile with your missing information noted. |
If your
Profile is complete, a pop-up message will appear stating:
Your qualifications have been verified. You will be asked if you would like to claim a
preferred status. (
NOTE: If you are claiming a
Preference, be sure to upload all supporting documentation in My Profile. You can upload your documents using the
My Resumes and Documents link.)
Read the certification statement, and if you understand and agree, click on the
Post Application button to apply for the posting. If your application successfully posted, you will see a pop-up message stating this.
The expiration period for any application is 90 days. You can check the status of your application in your
Profile under the
My Applications tab, and re-apply after 90 days if the position has not yet been filled.
